Its January again and you know what that means to all the gadget geeks and tech addicts of the world. CHRISTMAS! Thats right! Now is the time we all gather at the annual culmination of current and future technologies being showcased for the everyday consumer. Hence, its the Consumer Electronics Show. This is where we get to discover all of the latest in digital cameras, phones, computer peripherals, mobile devices, LCD televisions, home theater, car audio, wifi, home networking, bluetooth, and anything your tech savy mind can imagine. So what do you think we all do here for this 4 day pow-wow? We make our Christmas wish list for next Christmas of course. (Ok, HOLIDAY wish list to be more PC, and I don't mean personal computer). So throw out your crackberries, sell off your cell phones, and diss your 7 pound laptops. After this week, you will be begging Santa to come back NOW.

Verizon Launches a Windows Mobile phone in Palm Treo clothing.
With the lack of advances in the Palm OS, the Palm company has teamed up with Microsoft to refresh the aging Treo feature set and introduce it to Windows Mobile 5. Verizon, known for thier lack of innovative high tech phone hardware, has taken the crown this time by being the first to introduce the Treo 700W to the public. This is one of the most advanced smart phones ever with its new ability to access Verizon's high speed EVDO network and incorporating a blackberry-like push/pull email solution. This new Treo is bound to be a smash hit for 2006 as long as it does not inherit the kinks that prior Treos had upon launch.
Motorola Showcases All New Products
Motorola, a company known for giving us the first flip-phone, the digital Startac, and the widely popular V60 phone in its slick aluminum casing, has woken up the industry once again this past year with the new "gotta-have it" sexy RAZR phone. But in order for Motorola to keep their buzz going, they now know they just can't ride their mobile phone business on only one model as they did with their past hits. The public is more demanding and more diverse now and wants more. Hot off the coat tails of the RAZR phone, Motorola has intorduced the new ROKR successor E2 phone, the SLVR phone, and the new Q phone.
Forget your iTunes experience of the current ROKR first generation phone, the new one is smaller and cleaner and does not have iTunes. Motorola has intorduced their own new subscription based service that allows downloads of your favorite music and internet radio tunes. This phone will surely give Jobs a twitch. Dont worry Apple fans, the phone will include the ability to install iTunes as well.
The new SLVR phone and its little cousins brings the RAZR technology and design into a candybar style phone. Packed with features such as bluetooth and MP3 capability, you can still slip it in your pocket and know one will know.
One of the biggest pushes at the Motorola booth is the new Q Phone. Based on the Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone OS, the Q Phone is the sexiest and slimist I have seen. Similar in size to a standard blackberry but about 30% thinner, this smartphone includes the QWERTY keyboard, a large 320x240 vivid lcd screen, ability to run hundreds of applications already available for Windows Mobile 5 and best of all, high speed browsing on the EVDO network. This phone has generated a lot of buzz around the Motorola booth and at the Windows Mobile booth. Scheduled to be released around April/May, Verizon is sure to have another smash hit in their product line-up, as they will be the first carrier to offer this "gotta have it" phone. Expect Sprint to offer this phone in July.
